So this Villagio fire incident is a problem of loopholes. There is no other place as safe as Qatar on this earth. Look at those fire fighters gave their life. The fire dept fire prevention and code enforcement should have never allowed placement of a kinder garden in a high risk commercial structure.
Who will be kept accoauntable for this gross negligence. Why where the fire dept not aware of the kinder garden location?
The fire dept operations should have had conducted site visits to familiarize themselves with the the risks and draw pre plans The facilities manager, the resident engineer, the contractor of villagio mall should go to jail. They were very irresponsible, they do not know how to do their job!
I believe Civil defense will now be much extra careful on giving occupancy or residential permits. To all the contractors, don't be a fool! Implement what is right! How could this be allowed to happen? These children and their teachers did not have a chance!
It is the most unfortunate tragedy whereby 19 people were killed in Villagio Mall. The fire department did a good job by pulling out victims from the roof top. May the soul of the departed souls rest in eternal peace and give comfort to the deceased family and friends. This is a Shameful waste of these little lives in a building what was meant only as temporary has left its permanent scars of Sadness on 19 families. Rest in Peace and God Bless Them.
