I recently upgraded one of my computers to Windows XP, and needed to run Microsoft NetMeeting to collaborate with a couple guys from work. I looked there in XP, but nothing. I tried downloading the version for Win98, but it wouldn't let me install on XP. Here's how:. Hey Bill, How dumb is that huh? And you want us to believe you know what your doing? Netmeeting is being phased out cos its not compatible with. C'mon guys, read the signals here. I think Microsoft is in fact phasing out NetMeeting. Of course, the collaboration features of Windows Messenger are only available when chatting with other Windows Messenger users MSN Messenger users are out-of-luck!
So… it all is a plot to drive more and more people towards Windows XP. At least it's still there, even if it is hidden. Saved my butt! I tried running conf and it installed net meeting as you said but the video options were greyed out, I have a web cam installed on my PC is there something I've missed. As you said the new? It's possible that either another program is already using your webcam. Make sure other applications that use the webcam are shut down before running NetMeeting.
It's also possible but less likely that your webcam is not supported by NetMeeting. I say less likely because if the operating system recognizes the webcam and it works in other apps, it should also work in NetMeeting. There are also alternatives. United States English. Saturday, December 4, PM. You just answered your own question. It cannot run in Windows 7. So, since the guest OS is running on top of, or within in, the host OS, how do you expect the guest to see the host desktop?
