It's very much a work in progress, but this screen shot showcases all the basic functionality that I wanted in Halo HUD. Grenades - Each grenade launches a specific application. I currently have them set to, from left to right, Pidgin, Steam, Foobar, and Firefox.
Yes, I've yet to do a Frag Grenade icon. Radar - As of now, all this does is download and save an image for the local radar from Weather Underground. I'm currently editing a GIMP script which will automatically crop and edit the picture to display properly upon download. What you see here is the intended look. It also displays the current temperature. Battlerifle Ammo Display - Displays current battery status; it shows 0 in this picture because I'm using my desktop which is not on a battery.
Like I said, this is still very much a work in progress. My goal is to finish by the end of this month, unless of course there's a huge demand for it.
I'm also trying to figure out a font to use that actually looks like the Halo 3 HUD's font; any ideas? This has been a lot of work and there is still much left to do. I did this simply to see if I could. A personal challenge, so to speak.
I can't argue that this is a productive or practical desktop solution, like Starlight Desktop. I would call this art, more than anything else, but I'm sure there are some people out there that would use this.
This is for me, first and foremost, but also for anyone else who appreciates my work. I'm still very surprise how wallpapers can change the layout of a desktop set-up. Like I said on my past post, I will be working on an improve taskbar, and I guess this is what I came up. Though I'm not as satisfied for some reason. If you could give me a hint to what's lacking, I'll credit you. So what you see here is me over-using the text Century Gothic.
It's just really nice to the eye no matter what color it is,. The icon on the bottom launch is the toggle button - that actually launches Samurize and also closes it. I can change the RSS by clicking the name of what I want to use a well. Then the application launcher and finally the system stats.
This set up is a combination of alfurds and HUD. Vision well the vertical calendar. As for the white "Trash", the text is white when the recycle bin is full. Oh and I'm also running Stack Docklet. A limitation with Windows 7. Sorry I couldn't be of any help. You'll more than likely just have to wait for the author to fix that up for the next release I'm not sure how he even did it in the first place :p. Yeah it's a mystery to me. I tried messing around with the style in Vista style builder but can't seem to locate the property that controls the flashing taskbar notification.
