Digitals can give you an exactly perfect reproduction, with a very precise volume controlled fadeout.
Analogs generally add some warmth and grit to the repeats, slightly lower fidelity, but most find this more musical and natural. Sounds more like an actual echo, like yelling in a canyon. They break up a bit when fading out, like a reall echo. Length of phrase and repetition times.
Digitals can mimic slapback, but can also sample a very lengthy phrase and repeat it extraordinarilty slowly, depending on the pedal. Analogs don't get much longer than ms, ms being much more common.
So if you just want to add dimension to your leads or rhythms or anything and you still feel as you said above that ms is too long, then the two timer is your delay.
Or any other analog. If you want longer more perfect repeats, then go digital. So if you use a pedal for gain, just put the delay between the gain pedal and the amp. If you use your amps distortion, you must run a couple cables from the effects loop. If you don't have an effects loop on your amp, I dunno, maybe look into one with a loop. Me thinks this is why you're experiencing trebly harshness, usually not how analogs are described.
They're kinda the middle ground between handmade boutique FX and the mass produced old stand by brands. Ok hope this helps. I've been fiddling around with my Two-Timer, and am starting to feel that the more time I spend on it the more satisfying it gets. I think for now I'll just make do with what I have and try and get the best sound out of it. When I finally decide to spend more, I'll get a digital delay, just to check it out, and finally a new amp!
Good call on keepin the two timer, its solid and analog delay is something everyone should at least have, IMO. Start new topic. Recommended Posts. Posted May 25, Anyway the real question here is, how would you use this pedal if it were yours?
 More sharing options Author Members. Posted May 26, Anyone there? I'm mostly a slapback user, so we're talking very short delay times: ms. I have the two timer. Good little analog delay. If you're using the amps distortion, put it in the effects loop.
Delay is extreme to me as I almost never use effects Two timer does what it does and does it well, but if you want exact phrase reproduction with long gaps in between, this isn't ur thing.
Alecto Posted May 26, Please correct me if I'm wrong,. Yeah, these guys are right. Posted May 27, Thanks for ALL the info here, guys. I've learnt a great deal reading all the responses here. Alecto Posted May 27, Yea I get what you mean. Frankly speaking, I have absolutely no idea how a delay like that would fit in a song!
Oh boy Wulver Posted May 27, What pedal exactly would you recommend? I'm not too keen on a bulky, tank-like pedal though. Change shipping region. Add to Cart.
